This study aims to determine the relationship between self-esteem and loneliness over the adolescents at Daarul Aitam orphanage in Palembang. The type of research used is correlational qualitative. There were 48 participants in this study consisting of 27 men and 21 women with a sample education using a purposive sampling technique. The research instrument used was the self-esteem scale and the loneliness scale which were analyzed with the help of the SPSS 21 Version for windows program. The data analysis method uses product moment analysis. Based on the result of the research that has been done, it can be concluded that there is a very significant negative relationship between selfesteem and loneliness, this is evidenced by the value of the correlation coefficient which shows a value of -0.764 with a significance of 0.000 where p < 0.05. this means that the higher the self-esteem, the lower the loneliness, and the lower the self-esteem, and the higher loneliness.
