STUDENTS,PERCEPTION TOWARD ENGLISH CLUB PROGRAM IN PRACTICING SPEAKING: A CASE STUDY AT MAN 1 (MODEL) LUBYKLINGGAU.--

The purpose of this research was to find out the students’ perception toward English club program in practicing speaking at MAN 1 (model) Lubuklinggau. A qualitative research design with case study method was used in this research. The data of this study were collected through interview with the purposeful sampling. The criterion of participants was selected from five students that joining English club extracurricular at least two years. Thematic analysis technique was used in analyzing the data. The result of this study showed that the students have positive perception toward English club program in practicing speaking. The data showed that there were some advantages toward English club program in practicing speaking, such as: a) increasing speaking ability, b) speaking motivation, c) self-confidence, d) fun activities Keywords: Students’ perceptions, English club, Speaking
