MAN 2 Palembang is an educational institution under the Ministry of Religion. MAN 2 Palembang needs to refer to the development of information technology so it can be compete with other competitors, especially in the field of information systems. The implementation of information systems must be planned properly because sometime it will have less effect on the progress of the organization. Meanwhile, MAN 2 Palembang doesnt yet have an information system strategic plan that makes the imlementation of information systems more optimal. This study develops a strategic plan focuses on information systems at MAN 2 Palembang using the ward and peppard method. The analytical tools used are SWOT, value chain and McFarlan's strategic grid. From this study can be known that in compiling strategic planning of information systems using the Ward and Peppard method beside using 4 to 5 tools, it can also be done simply with only 3 analytical tools. The results of this study recommend 10 IS strategies; Website, PPDB, Quality Assurance IS, Cooperation Management IS, Staff IS, Scheduling IS, E-Learning, Service IS, Administration IS, and Infrastructure Management IS then described in the information system strategic planning document so it can be used by MAN 2 Palembang as a reference for the imlementation of information systems in the future.
