This study aims to determine the validity and practicality of interactive multimedia-based teaching materials in motivating students of class VIII A SMP to learn science on joint materials. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. The study was conducted using a Likert scale. The results of research conducted by expert validation with an average of 96% with criteria very valid and the average practicality result is 88.2% with very practical criteria.The advantages of interactive multimedia-based teaching materials that have been developed include being able to clarify the material with interesting pictures and animations so that students learn more easily, can train their abilities with various trying activities after studying the material, motivating students with various forms of awards in the form of sentences along with interesting pictures, animations, videos and audios and can give users the freedom to choose the desired material with navigation buttons.
