National Association for Media Literacy Education (NAMLE) formerly Alliance for a Media Literate America (AMLA). e-jurnal

NAMLE was founded at the National Media Education Conference in 2001 as the Alliance for a Media Literate America (with roots that go back to its origins as Partnership for Media Education in 1997, a public/private collaboration in leaded to stimulate professional development in the then-fledgling media literacy Held). It is a national membership organization dedicated to advancing the field of media literacy education in the U.S. in short, insuring that media literacy is included in every child's education. NAMLE holds biannual conferences (see sidebar for a report on this year's meeting), including the first research summit on media literacy in 2007, and hosts an informative website that includes media literacy event listings, research, policy updates, the online Journal of Media Literacy Education, and other teaching resources.--KV
