The Armed Forces of the I.R. of Iran, with the largest number of manpower and the wide geographical scope and variety of assigned missions, is one of the organizations that more than ever needs to establish knowledge management system to improve the decision-making processes in the command and control system, to transfer the experiences and tacit knowledge of the employees before leaving, to store the experiences in the knowledge base of the organization, to acquire and produce the new knowledge to perform missions and the use of knowledge management tools to increase productivity. The multifaceted nature of the knowledge management and its distribution in different areas such as organizational culture, organizational structure and software are one of the concerns of armed organizations in the implementation of this issue. If any organizations can find appropriate knowledge management solutions in these areas, it is possible to be balanced and successful. The realization of this importance will be possible by following a systemic approach in the implementation of knowledge management at the organization level, so this study aims to design a knowledge management system in the military organizations of the I.R. of Iran. In this applied-developmental study, the approach is mixed and the research method is descriptive- analytical. Data were analyzed via SPSS software in the quantitative part and content analysis was used for documents and interviews in the qualitative part. The most important components of the knowledge management system to use in a military organization were approved by the statistical population and experts as follow: 1- Management and leadership 2- ICT 3- Human resource management 4-Organizational structure 5-Organizational culture 6- Establishment and implementation 7-Training 8- Oriented pillars 9-Knowledge fields 10- Organization knowledge management cycle
