The purpose of this study is to describe the development of Cengal District carried out by the Government of Ogan Komering Ilir Regency assessed from the perspective of development politics. This research is a field research that uses descriptive type with a qualitative approach, data collection with interview, observation and documentation methods where the procedure of this researcher produces a description that is describing things related to the problem being studied, in this case what affects public perception Cengal District in the development of the Ogan Komering Ilir District Government in Cengal District. The results of this study, Cengal sub-district with various economic potentials, but there is no significant change in the social structure of Cengal sub-district due to the lack of support and support from the local government for its development. Therefore, if the sub-district gets more attention from the district government in the development of its potential sector, the Cengal sub-district will become a more advanced and developing sub-district.
