ANALISIS KESALAHAN SISWA DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL OLIMPIADE MATEMATIKA.--

The purpose of this study is to describe the errors made by students in solving math olympiad questions. The math olympiad questions used are provincial level olympiad questions on Numbers, Algebra, and Geometry. The research method used in this research is descriptive-qualitative method. Taking the subject of SMP Negeri 1 Palembang students. The research subjects consisted of 9 students who were members of the math club at the junior high school. Research data obtained from written tests and interviews. Data analysis in this research is qualitative data analysis which consists of data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and verification. The results of the study obtained errors made by students, namely conceptual errors with the percentage error rate of 33.33% with the most errors located when students were wrong in determining the right formula or theorem. Procedural errors with the percentage error rate is 35.56% with the most errors located when students do not solve the problem in the order of steps. And the computational error with the percentage of the error rate is 24.44% with the most errors located when the student is wrong in determining the result of the operation.
