Thesis is a writing carefully written by undergraduate (S1) students related to educational problems according to their respective study programs. Research methodology courses are compulsory subjects in the PAI study program with a weight of 3 credits. To be able to continue studying, students are required to get an A or B grade in the research methodology course. FITK UIN Raden Fatah Palembang requires undergraduate programs to write a thesis as one of the completions of study. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between research methodology courses and the ability of students to complete the 2017 thesis at FITK UIN Raden Fatah Palembang.This type of research is quantitative research, using data collection techniques such as documentation, and questionnaires as well as data analysis techniques with the help of IBM SPSS Software Version 24 using the Product Moment correlation formula. The population in this study were all 2017 PAI students with a sample of 55 students. Based on the research, it can be seen that (1) the learning process of research methodology courses is in the high category of respondents 23 students with a percentage of 41.81% (2) the ability of students to complete thesis is included in the high category of 27 students with a percentage of 49.09% (3) the relationship between the research methodology courses and the students' ability to complete the thesis obtained by Sig. 0.000
