THE USE OF INSTAGRAM IN TEACHING ENGLISH WRITING TEACHER PERCEPTION AT SMA 1 RANTAU ALAI OGAN ILIR.--
This study aimed to find out the students’ perceptions on the use of Instagram in writing activities at SMAN 1 Rantau Alai Ogan Ilir. This study used qualitative research. One of the qualitative research designs applied in this study was case study design. Maximum variation was taken to choose as the participant, and two teacher would be chosen from 10th grade who expert with the writing skill of SMAN 1 Rantau Alai. In order to collect the data, face to face interview was done containing 13 items of the questions. Thematic analysis technique was used in analyzing the data. Regarding the result of this study. It was found that there were some perceptions towards the use of Instagram in writing activities, as follows: 1) Instagram was an alternative e-learning platform for online classes to achieve learning goals, 2) Instagram made the teacher easy to prepare and deliver the material, 3) Instagram helped the teacher to increase students’ awareness of their own mistakes in writing activities, 4) Instagram helped the teacher to improve students’ motivation in writing activites.
