This article aims to find out the implementation of the incense burning tradition in the Lubuk Tampui village community and aims to find out the meaning of the incense burning tradition for the Lubuk Tampui village community. The type of research in this thesis is field research, using qualitative data types. The data sources used are primary data sources and secondary data sources. Primary data sources are data sources obtained directly from traditional leaders, religious leaders, community leaders and the Lubuk Tampui village community, while secondary data sources are data sources generated from books, scientific works, research results and journals related to researched problem. The collection technique used is through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and levers (inferences). It can be concluded that the incense burning tradition carried out by the Lubuk Tampui village community is a legacy tradition from their ancestors in ancient times. The implementation process is as follows: first, the provision of materials and equipment. Second, the provision of frankincense. Third, the provision of containers. Fourth, the provision of coals. Fifth, the provision of offerings or food. Sixth, the ritual process of burning incense. The meaning in carrying out the incense burning tradition for the people of Lubuk Tampui village is so that they get benefit and avoid all dangers or disasters. Because according to their belief, by doing this incense burning tradition they will be safe and safe from the anger of the danger.
