ABSTRACT This research examines political capital and the factors driving and inhibiting election in the 2019 Prabumulih City Election. This paper describes the control of capital which is one of the problems often faced by women who are involved in politics. It is widely believed that women entering politics are correlated with traditional norms. The results of this study indicate that they are able to manage their political capital. Political capital is composed of political experience, full support from political parties and successful teams that are formed, great self-motivation and finally political marketing formed by political imagery and the use of social media. With the support of the party and his political experience, he was able and succeeded in being elected as a member of the Prabumulih City Legislature. The driving and inhibiting factors for being elected are the full support of political parties. Followed by the placement of strategic electoral districts in which the electoral district itself previously had high popularity in the community and lastly the ownership of small serial numbers which also made it easier for voters to remember the candidacy serial number. Based on the results of this research, it is hoped that it will become information material and input for students, academics, local government, and all parties who need it in the Islamic Politics Study Program, Faculty of Adab and Humanities, UIN RF Palembang and the Indonesian government of South Sumatra.
