GÖRSEL İLETİŞİM TASARIMI KAPSAMINDA REUTERS VE ANADOLU AJANSI’NIN MOBİL UYGULAMALARININ KARŞILAŞTIRMALI TASARIMSAL ANALİZİ

In the digitalization process called Industry 4.0, technology-referenced visual communication systems have a great share in the rapid transformation of the media. It is seen that the field of journalism, especially in the media, has undergone a rapid change and strengthened its position. News agencies are also repositioned in digital media by taking their share from this change and transformation. However, it is seen that the field of journalism in digital media has a very close relationship with the design discipline. In this framework, it is mentioned that a new type of journalism based on visual communication has emerged by interacting with design and news over virtual environments. Because today, digital media is also defined as the world of digital visual indicators. The adventure of journalism, which started with homing pigeons, has become an area of influence that cannot be predicted with digital communication technologies and has turned into an area where fast, interactive and feedback can be obtained. In this study; The mobile applications of today's news agencies in the digital media were examined with the content analysis method and the sub-dynamics of the design discipline as a reference. In the sample, mobile applications of Reuters and Anadolu News Agency were compared in terms of design with reference to the norms of the visual communication design field. By analyzing the interface designs of the platforms over the categories, it has been tried to examine how the relationship between digital journalism and visual communication design is constructed through applications. In this context, in the study; In the relationship between Digital Journalism and Visual Communication Design, it has been observed that the mobile applications of the agencies exhibit different approaches in news display and content editing. In addition, due to the fact that Reuters news agency is a private media organization and Anadolu News Agency is a state-affiliated agency, differences have been identified between the two agencies in both the display of news content and interface design architecture. This situation; shows that the design process is shaped according to the broadcasting policy of the media organization and its position in the sector. In the study, the subject was handled using qualitative and quantitative data, and especially the interface designs of mobile applications were compared within the framework of visual communication design, and findings were obtained. In this context, it is expected that the study will contribute to the field of digital journalism, digital visual communication design and related literature.
