Penutup Aurat bagi Perempuan Transgender dalam Hukum Islam

This article originates from the many phenomena of gender change in Indonesia which are then added
to the provisions of Islamic law that have not explicitly explained the covering of genitalia for
Transgender women in performing prayers. The purpose of writing this journal is to find out how the
limits of genitalia and the provisions for covering aurat for Transgender women. This journal article is
prepared using library research methods. The author obtains data and analyzes it from various
references in the form of books and journals that are relevant to the research theme in this journal
article. The fact that there are Transgender Muslims in Indonesia who come from among public figures
will cause controversy about the way they practice their worship. Therefore, there needs to be an indepth discussion of clear legal provisions for Transgender people in carrying out worship. Based on the
results of the research, it was found that the covering of genitalia for Transgender women is that it can
adjust the gender that a person believes in whether he is a woman or a man. If a Transgender woman is
believed to be a woman with characteristics inherent in women, usually her entire body is aurat except
the face and palms. However, if it is believed that a person is still male, then the genitals are from the
navel to the knees.
