Citizen journalism has proven its effectiveness in the era of digital technology, as it enabled every citizen to provide a distinctive scoop supported with sound and image in a live and immediate manner during the outbreak of crises, and also provided him with the ability to publish news and audacious criticism of events, communicate with the world and exchange information in his own way The private sector is far from adhering to the rules of the journalistic profession, and thus has brought about a major revolution in the framework of dealing with political issues and social phenomena, crystallizing beliefs, changing opinions and taking positions, and its effects are clearly reflected on all facilities of life One of the most important issues that interests societies is due to issues of civil peace and the promotion of the principle of citizenship. Because of the cultural invasion that it suffers, it contains extremist ideas that provoke hostility and deepen differences. Civil peace The research adopted the survey method in both its descriptive and analytical aspects and relied on a random sample of (200) individuals from the capital of Baghdad governorate to be representative of the Iraqi society with all its segments and aimed at identifying the role of citizen journalism applications in spreading the culture of civil peace among the Iraqi public as well as identifying the extent of The public trust in it, and the research has reached the following results: 1- The high follow-up period for citizen journalism applications by the Iraqi individual for its important role in providing news, information and community development. 2- Citizen journalism is the appropriate platform for presenting, discussing and commenting on social crises and demanding solutions to them, given the interest of the Iraqi individual in the social issues raised therein. -3.The video clips have become a central part of the media process of informing the citizen and are no longer an entertainment tool, as it is more credible by reporting the events directly by the citizens themselves, with sound and image.
