Women are delicate creatures. They are also emotional. Therefore, divorces burn out
women very much. Strictness and ambiguity of the rules in the cultural heritage of
sociological conditions increase this burnout. One of the cultures this climaxes is the
jahiliyyah culture. Number of divorces and the waiting period to remarry after a
divorce is important issues to be considered among them. Yet, this is one of the subjects
where women suffer the most in jahiliyyah culture. However, Koran immediately or
gradually resolves this issue while it is still fresh within some circumstances related
with divorce. Rules are established which are generally in favor of women. It is not
satisfied with it and prevents abuse of its rules. Sometimes, holistic solutions are
provided for the issue related problems by establishing several rules through a verse
upon an incident. Actually, this is construction of a civilization rather than a rule. Yet,
everything preventing victimization and oppression is a sign of civilization.
Consequently, women are given the value they deserve and it is prevented them to be
treated like a captive or a slave.
