Attitudes of Jordanian Journalists towards the Functional and Professional Dimensions of Robot Journalism. E-JOURNAL



This study aimed to identify the attitudes of Jordanian journalists towards robot journalism, and their effects on the employment of journalists, ethical and professional aspects in the field, and media language. This descriptive study used the survey method and questionnaire as a tool to collect data. The results showed that 56.7% of the sample refused to consider robot journalism as part of the concept of common journalism. The results of the study revealed the reasons behind the responding Jordanian journalists refusing to use the term journalism to the phenomenon of robot journalism, as 55.3% of Jordanian journalists believe that robot journalism is “not governed by clear professional rules”, while 50.6% believe that the reason is that “those who produce it are not journalists. While 48.2% of them attributed the reason to the fact that it is “mechanical and lacks the concept of humanism.”
