Many ordinary people have a dim view of the economy, which may be due to pessimistic press coverage, according to a study by the Washington Post. Major newspapers have run gloomy stories about the economy which has distorted the reality of the situation. Although unemployment is at a seven-year low and inflation is lower than it has been in 30 years, many American think both inflation and unemployment are much higher than they are.
