Trends of Academic Media Elites Towards Employing “Infographics” in Media Content “A Descriptive Field Study on A Sample of Academic Elites”. E-JOURNAL
The research aims to establish academic attitudes and trends towards what the research calls (Infographic media), and to pay greater attention to employ academic studies in Arab media practices, and in a focus towards media and data journalism, as it aims to define the history and future of integrative and associative relations between scientific Infographics and mass communication sciences laying down and rooting for their evolutions and great leaps in the future, and then presenting scientific and practical frameworks and borders for integrating between Infographics & Media, in addition to providing the academic media library with a systematic study that shows the bases, concepts and resolves the controversy in the connections between concepts and applications in Infographics & media sciences. The research adopted the descriptive approach, using the survey method. The field study sought to search for intentional samples when the research investigated trends of (50) respondents who fall under the elite sample, as they represented an academic elite including media & mass communication staff in colleges and universities in the United Arab Emirates The research extracted qualitative research trends through the sample of experts, including the trend towards classifying the Infographic within the sciences of graphics and illustration design more than its affiliation with the sciences of media & mass communication, with the support of (82%) of the academics, varying between “agree” and “strongly agree”. The research highlighted the academic trend that the Infographic is nothing more than a creative artistic manipulation (Mohsen Basri) for the structure of the media message and not for the manipulation of content and content production, this is according to the respondents who agreed with 78% “ agree” and “strongly agree”, despite the wide agreement (92%) of the sample members between 68% “agree”, and 24 % “strongly agree” in their tendency to classify the Infographic in its integration with media content, as it establishes a new pattern of integrating content with technical frameworks; trends have also emerged to raise the status of social media in its nature and platforms as a breeding ground and a fertile platform for the spread and popularity of Infographic models and designs across various types of content, mainly advertising and marketing, with a strong trend of 76% of the respondents' support.
