Experiential integration model: the holocaust literacy program. e-jurnal

Experiential learning has long been advocated for improving learning and creating positive memories and dispositions. The Common Core Curriculum advocates the integration of literacy and math with social studies and science in the belief that such procedures will redirect and improve the depth of learning. The Holocaust Literacy Program reported here is an integrated model for instruction that weaves multiple experiences around a common social studies theme. Data collected indicated positive results for student learning. In addition, teacher candidates and in-service teachers recognized the merits of experiential learning and indicated a desire to use this model in their future classes.
